Growing our own food
- At Silves Hills, we grow our local ecologically farmed food in our very own communal gardens and orchards.
- We maximize the usage of on-site fruits and vegetables in our on-site restaurant and provide the opportunity for our house owners to do the same.
Clever and energy saving design
- Energy saving and sustainable solutions are at the core of our design.
- Silves Hills villas are designed for all year long living, assuring all the comfortable indoor climate conditions needed.
- The architectural design with its concrete ceilings and slabs provides the needed thermal inertia during hot summer days.
- The houses feature green roofs providing thermal insulation, eliminating heat radiation from roofs, and providing a peaceful natural view.
- The villas also feature pergolas (overhangs) providing shading from the high sun, automatic exterior roll-down grid type shades for the windows, and solar protection triple glazing windows.
- Sustainability and energy saving start from the architecture. We do the utmost to minimize the needs to regulate comfort.
- When we need to regulate comfort, we do so with the most efficient solutions.
- Each house features a heat pump solution that takes advantage of all the energy synergies on-site.
- The latent heat from the cooling system is used to heat domestic hot water and/or the pool.
- Energy recovery mechanical supply and extract ventilation allows for constant fresh air with cooling and heating energy recovery, lowering the needed cooling and heating energy demand.
- Individual houses do not have PV panels to avoid disturbing the harmony of the beautiful views from our villas.
- We have installed PV solar panels centrally and away from the houses.
- Using electricity efficiently and harvesting renewable solar energy allows us to be truly prudent with the resources we use.
E- mobility
- An on-site rental for a variety of electrical vehicles and EV charger pre-installations in all units facilitates opting for low-carbon mobility choices.
